sms web development’s latest offering is the re-design of the SCRI, International website. We designed and built our client’s new site utilizing the WordPress platform. The site’s owner wanted the capability to update his own content, which he is now able to do via WordPress’ CMS (content management system). He also produces a monthly online newsletter which can now be broadcast as a blog post, again with the help of WordPress’ blogging functionality. He previously had to duplicate his efforts by placing his newsletter on his old website and then recreate it for email distribution. Now he can create his newsletter blog post once, and have his clients receive it via email by subscribing to the site’s RSS feed.

Dr. Valerie Sher

Bliss Me Out

My client required a small, clean and efficient – mobile ready website. The site describes her services, etc., via an Ajax scroller that minimizes required space. An online calendar referencing her schedule was integrated into the site. I also created a private area of the site, accessible only by login, for other professional peers.

The Power Of Pleasure

Engage Love

Keith Braselton, coach and author, enlisted SMS Web Development to partner in creating the web presence for his new venture – Engage Love. The primary efforts we focused on in this first phase, were creating a website that not only promotes Engage Love, but also his new book – Engage Love—A New Healing Paradigm. We designed and produced the site utilizing the WordPress platform and performed extensive theme customization, per Mr. Braselton’s needs. In addition to highlighting the book, we integrated e-commerce functionality allowing users to purchase either the e-book or the physical book.

We worked with Mailchimp to create a subscription form to capture email addresses and also designed and produced email newsletter templates containing links for promotional downloads. We will also create blog to newsletter functionality via RSS feed.

We designed and produced cover art for both the e-book and physical book, including all pre-press functions.

For the last part of Phase One, we created Engage Love’s Social Media presence for Facebook and Twitter containing graphics that are consistent with the Engage Love brand.

Adventures in WordPress

I have to admit that I have been run through the wringer! I’ve survived my complete immersion—baptism-by-fire—into the world of WordPress. Where’s my tee-shirt?

I also have to admit that it was completely worth all the trials and tribulations. I stretched myself in ways I thought not possible. For a little background, I will tell you that I’m primarily a designer—web and print—who also hand codes HTML, and dabbles in enough JavaScript to be a bit dangerous. By no means am I a back-end programmer! And that’s the piece that led me to WordPress.

This Dust Of Words

sms web development designed and built the website for “This Dust of Words”, an independent film. This site promotes the second documentary by SF Bay Area filmmaker Bill Rose.

This site gives background on the film, announces upcoming screenings, provides the media with downloadable photos for print, and lists film reviews. Additionally, we were enlisted to design items for print including the DVD cover and festival promo cards.

One of our more recent clients is Build By Design, a construction firm that is leading the way in utilizing Green Technology for the 21st Century.

We were enlisted to design and produce a high-end, cutting edge look for this new website, including a logo, that markets new building technologies that include geothermal and solar.

9 Red Sun

sms web development recently re-designed 9 Red Sun’s website. The site acts as a resource for the band’s fans as well as industry professionals.

Because blogging has become such an important communication tool, together we decided to convert the existing site to a WordPress site. The site allows users to listen to the band’s music hosted as MP3s via the Sound Cloud player that we incorporated. We built in the functionality to capture email addresses via an email subscription giving users periodical band updates. Additionally, we designed and implemented an online newsletter. We also incorporated the very important Facebook and Twitter widgets to allow fans easy connection to those sites. Lastly, we designed all of the band’s printed materials, including business cards, CD artwork, posters, clothing and other merchandise.
